This was a special time for Jared and Noah. Noah is at the age where he really loves to be involved and help. Jared used every opportunity to educate his son on everything he knew when it came to camping. It was so amazing as I sat back and watched the two of them work together while Jared guided Noah. Seeing the two of them bond has made me even more eager to homeschool the boys. I am looking forward to many more of these memories, sharing our knowledge and teaching are children about life.

My husband is quite the cook. I was impressed by his "campfire cuisine." We enjoyed grilled BBQ chicken breast, pork chops, baked beans, parsley potatoes, pizza mountain pies, smores, egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches on the griddle, homefries, hot coffee.......I could go on and on. Thank you hon for feeding us well. I don't remember my jeans feeling this tight before the trip!

While we were camping, I spent my daily devotional reading Philippians. It's a short book in the Bible, but rich with wisdom. I prayed for God's guidance that I would be able to glean pieces of wisdom that by God's grace I would be able to live out in my life. The following verses touched my heart and gave me a new perspective in certain areas of my life. I have a so much growing to do as a Christian. The more I learn, the more I come to realize I don't know. But I will rely on God, His wisdom and His love. The Word of God and His timing are nothing less than perfect.
"Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy-meditate on these things."

This is a picture of a turtle that Noah drew for me. Keep in mind that he was riding in a car when he drew this. For those of you who know me well, you know turtles are my favortie critters. (They are never in a hurry and they never have to leave home). So needless to say that I was tickled to see that my son drew me something so special. This drawing is a keeper, you will see this in a frame, and hanging on my wall!

Family Trip

We had a wonderful trip to the White Mountains. There are so many beautiful areas up here. We visited Storyland, a children's Amusement park, and Clark's Trading Post, a family owned park, featuring a live bear show, a train ride, and lots of interesting attractions such as bumper boats, rock climbing walls, and antiques. We went with close friends of ours and had an amazing time. We always have so much fun with them. We are heading up to the Green Mountains tomorrow to camp for a few days, just the four of us. The boys love to be outdoors, especially when they get to sleep in a tent. I will have new pics to post early next week. Hope everyone has a blessed weekend.

I love you so much. When I talked to you on the phone today, you sounded so disappointed that I haven't posted any new pictures in a while. I felt really bad, however it was nice to be reminded that you look forward to seeing how we are doing. I really do think of you as I post pieces of our lives. I know you miss all of us so much, especially your two grandboys, but please know that we love and miss you more than you realize. We hope that someday we will be able to live close to our family. I know that you want us to be happy, and I want you to know that we are. We know our time up here isn't permanent, and it will go quickly. We want to enjoy where God has us right now, I don't want to miss the blessings that are before us, and I will if I am too busy wishing for tomorrow to be here today. I am very hopeful that someday Noah and Nate will be able to walk up to Grandma and Pap Pap's and head right for the snack drawer. Nate's two loves are rocks and water. When he has both at the same time he is in his glory. We went to a picnic at our Pastor's house the day these pics were taken. As soon as we arrived, Nate immediately darted toward the pond, and was thrilled to find all sizes of rocks to throw. He loves to be outside, but when it's time for him to come in, I literally have to pry the rocks out of his hand before entering our house. However, he has slipped quite a few past me. I know because I find rocks everywhere in our house. I actually think that it is kind of cute how he is developing his own interests. Who knows how long his love for water and rocks will last. I am thankful to have been able to capture this precious part of his childhood.

Noah came running out of the woods, shouting, "Mommy, Mommy, look what I caught!" This kid is all boy, and I am loving these moments. His little friend that he is holding tightly between his fingers is a little toad. Noah was so proud to have captured him. Breath a sigh of relief knowing that Noah, gently released his little captive back into his habitat, unharmed. I will never forget the look on his face when he came racing toward me with excitement. This was just one of those moments that I was happy to have captured.

I thought I was going to have to get the boys a kiddie pool for the summer.....however, I don't think that it would get much use. Nate has taken to a puddle in our drive way. He loves collecting rocks and throwing them in "his" puddle. It started out as a treat for him after it would rain, but with a bit of nice weather, the puddle would dry up and Nate would just walk around it, looking puzzled, like, "hey where's my puddle?" So, now I just use the hose and fill it up for him. I find it amazing how little things as simple as a puddle capture a child's interest for hours.

We have just returned from a trip back "home". What a wonderful time we had. A whole week packed full of family, I couldn't of asked for more, except for maybe a few more days to hang out with the gang. I loved watching Noah and Nate with their cousins. The goodbyes never get any easier, I don't know why I expected them too. However, Jared and I really are very thankful for where God has the four of us right now, knowing we are in His hands. I'm learning patience and contentment, two things that haven't come very easy for me. God has taught me so much about who He has called me to be. I am a work in progress, I have so much growing to do. This is truly a learning experience, and although it can be difficult at times, I can honestly say that I have no regrets of the decision we made to move up here. We really miss our family, and going home reminds us of exactly why we miss them so much. I get a surge of memories that flood my mind while I'm there. I am thankful for where I am from, and that I can go back to that place, and not a whole lot has changed.
While working on this blog, I ran into a challenge. You see, I took over 1000 pictures while we were home, and I am having a little trouble picking out the ones I want to post on this site. (Yes it's 1000, I didn't type in an extra zero by accident) Plus I still need to get permission from other family members that are in the pics other than my kids before I can post them. Yes, photography is an obsession for me. Jared is praising God that we went digital!
Enjoy viewing some of the memories that we made. I will be posting more over the next several days to truly get a feel for the joy we experience being home.

On our camping trip I was tucking Noah into his sleeping bag one evening. It had rained a little that day, and it was a bit chilly, so things were damp. Our Camping Trip

Jared, the boys and I went on our first family camping trip. We went to Pilsbury State Park in New Hampshire. We were asked by our close friends to share these few days out in the wilderness with them. We were so glad they asked us to go because we had such a wonderful time. They are a great family, and have 3 boys of their own. We had a beautiful campsite, overlooking a brook, a pond, and gorgeous scenery wherever we looked. We spent time at the campsite, eating over a fire for every meal. This was our first "gourmet" camping trip, our friends sure know how to cook. I've never had homemade pizza over a fire....yum! Along with lots of other delicious dishes. There was a small playground with 2 slides and 2 swings for the kids. Their favorite spot was a tree that they could sit on, they called it their "motorcylce". We spent time at the pond with our nets catching critters. The kids were fascinated by a big frog and salamander that were scooped up in a net. We saw a snapping turtle and a snake as well. The kids were also able to see a nest of baby birds, so amazing. We went canoing on the pond, and went for a nice hike through the woods. Jared had an awesome time, he loves the outdoors, and loves spending time with his family. The boys got filthy dirty, I didn't expect anything less from my boys. That's how I knew they were having a good time. As for me, I couldn't of asked for a better trip, I can't even complain about the little bit of rain we had, because after the rain was one of the most beautiful rainbows I've ever seen. We made some lasting memories that I will cherish always.

I love this pic of Jared and the boys, there's something special about it to me. I felt very moved when I took this shot, feeling so blessed to have these three in my life. The boys are growing so fast, it's amazing. In this pic Jared let's them go on ahead first, but he is still close behind them, watching over them. As they get older, they will go further and further ahead of us traveling through life's journey. We may be at a distant, they need room to grow and experience life, but we will always be behind them.

We had a great time at the beach. I meant to blog while we were there, but I was too busy working on my tan. There was no time between going to the beach, and lounging around the pool. How precious. My little boy......with a girl. Right now I am Noah's special girl, he tells me that all of the time, and as I was watching the two of them it made me sad to think someday I am going to have to share him. But I know as a mother it is my responsibility to raise my son into a strong, compassionate and caring man, and that some day he will be head of his household; a husband, and a father. I want him to know God, to love God, and to serve God with a joyful heart. May God's grace strengthen Jared and I to set that example for our sons. I know deep down that I will always be Noah's special girl, no matter who comes into his life. I feel so blessed that God chose me to be Noah's mommy.

I hope everyone has been enjoying my blog. I love sharing our daily lives with our family and close friends. I hope to continue to post pictures and other things pertaining to what the boys have been up to. However, I have decided to secure my blog, which means my blog will not be open to just anyone like it is right now. I will feel more comfortable posting pictures of my children, along with my thoughts knowing that only family and close friends will be viewing what is so precious to me. I will secure my blog within the next week or two. All it means for you who would like to continue to read my blog is to first to let me know by either email or phone, then I will set it up so you have permission to view my blog. It only takes one easy extra step, not an inconvenience. I am hopeful that you understand why I have chosen to do this, and I hope you will continue to see what we are all up to. Here are the boys having a blast at our favorite museum. They have awesome indoor exhibits which the boys have always enjoyed. The outside water area is now their favorite place. All of the exhibits are hands-on and interactive, everything educational, fun, and very kid friendly. There are many walking trails which we look forward to going on this summer. (We are getting tons of use out of our family membership). We had a nice picnic lunch with friends while sitting under a large tree with nice shade. Then we enjoyed the warm sunshine all afternoon. I was so thankful for such a beautiful day. Praise the Lord!

Tent City

My "three" boys, enjoying their club house, as Noah calls it. I remember building these with my little sister in our living room when I was a little girl. Yes, I'm all grown up, but I have to admit; these little homemade tents are still fun for me. The excitement and energy the boys had when they got to go in the tent must of rubbed off on me, because after crawling inside, we sat and giggled, and for a few brief moments, I felt like a little kid again. Then the boys kicked me out, no girls allowed I guess!

We have a dog

Noah and I were looking at pictures of my sister's new puppy. I said, "Look Jared, she's so cute, I want one." Noah quickly said, "We already have a dog, his name is Nate."

Grandma's boys

My Mom loves all of her grandkids so much. And of course all 9 of her grandkids adore their Grandma. My Mom is someone who we all enjoy being around, it has always been like that. She is a very special person to so many people. Noah and Nate had a wonderful time with their Grandma. Noah was so excited when he saw Grandma's car pull in our driveway, it brought tears to my eyes to see his excitement, how he ran to her car and jumped into her arms. I knew how he felt, I wanted to do the same but I would have knocked her to the ground, so I just gave her a big hug. Thank you Mom for driving all this way, it has meant more than you'll ever know.

My Mom left this morning..... I am still teary eyed. I had such a wonderful visit with her. I am reminded of why I miss her so much when I am around her. As soon as she got out of her car after arriving, a special feeling overwhelmed me. I miss her hugs and her kisses, and of course her laugh. I am grateful that I had this past week to spend with someone I love so much. Saying goodbye is sooooooooooo hard. God gives me strength to pull myself together and smile, being thankful for the woman God blessed me with as my Mother.

Giraffe tracks

Noah and I were going for a walk today, and we came upon some animal tracks. I brought them to his attention, and without missing a beat Noah said, "Mom, these are giraffe tracks!"

At lunch, after Noah realized we were out of ranch dressing, he looked at me and said, "Mom, we're out of ranch. Why don't you go to the store by yourself, and I will stay here and keep an eye on Nate?"
My reply, with a smile, was a quick, "I don't think so."

Enjoying a walk..........

Here are the boys, just taking a rest. There is a beautiful area for us to walk, very close to our home. It was a beautiful day, a cool breeze, and the sun was shining. I really enjoyed watching my boys, they love to explore. They climb, they jump, they run, they fall, they roll, having so much fun all the while. They pick up pieces of nature and are so facsinated by what they see, a stick, a leaf, a cool looking rock. They make me smile. I am so thankful that God made me their Mommy, I love them both so much.

Noah is a great climber..... and so curious. He's the one who leads our direction. He goes first, helping his little brother along the way. He is really growing and changing, still my little boy though.....I'll never let him go, no matter how big and adventerous he gets.

Feeling the wind

I love this pic of Nate. He was standing there, gazing up at the sky. When I looked up to see what his eyes were fixed on, there was nothing there. Maybe he was admiring the blue sky, or the tree tops. Or maybe he was enjoying the wind blowing on his face. Whatever it was, it was a precious moment that I am so thankful I was able to capture.
