Behind "Verse of the Day"

Each morning I post a "Verse of the Day." These verses do have special meaning. I choose these verses based on what I am studying at the time, or something that I may be going through. They all have specific relevance in my daily life. I love to share these verses, in hopes that others will be touched by the Word of God. What a blessing it is to be able to read and share His powerful words of truth.

His grace is sufficient

"And He said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness."
2Corinthians12:9

Rooster Hair

After Noah looked at himself in the mirror, seeing his hair for the first time this morning, he said loudly, "Mom, I am sad!" I asked, "Why are you sad?" He replied boldly, "I'm sad because I have rooster hair!"

Look who has "Pap Pap hair" now!

What is going on with Noah's hair this morning?! All I have to say is......Cockadoodledoo!

He gives me strength

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
Philippians 4:13

Someone wonderful

As I was going for my morning walk, I looked down, and spotted a little plastic toy turtle. I put it in my pocket, a perfect find for the boys. I gave it to Noah, he looked at it and said, "I love it, I want to show it to my wonderful Dad."

The Path

"The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day."

It's Potty Time

I took this pic of Nate a few days ago. He has been very interested in the potty lately. So I thought, we'll give him an introduction. He just turned 18 mos. old, I can't believe how he's growing. Nothing of course happened while he was on there, but at least he had fun being a big boy. He wasn't tired while sitting there, his eyes always seem to look like that when I take a picture of him, drives me crazy.

Faith

Here is an update on the boys. They are both on the road to recovery. Noah is feeling better, still lying on the couch, but in better spirits. Nate's coughing is not so bad this morning. It's so hard seeing my little guys sick. It's a beautiful day out this morning, the sky is blue and the sun is shining, I hope we can get the boys out today for some fresh air. I thank God for taking care of my boys. I know we will have to deal with many more colds and flu in the future, maybe even broken bones (especially with my two, who seem to have "no fear"). I have learned through this experience that I have to remember not only to pray for healing, but also that the Lord would comfort them in their time of pain or illness. I know it made Noah feel better knowing that his Mommy and Daddy were praying for him. At his young age, I feel that sometimes his faith in God is stronger than mine at times. His trust in God's power is real. My heart is moved when I see Noah close his eyes tight and talk to God, asking Him to help he and his brother feel better. It's as if when he was praying, he had no doubts, he knew God was listening and would take care of them. It's amazing what an important lesson I can learn from a 3 1/2 year old. I was reminded by my son that God is faithful to those who love Him. I am so greatful that God trusted me to be Noah and Nathan's Mommy.

The Lord is my Rock

"The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

He will listen

"Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you."
Jeremiah 29:12

Pray for my sickies

Please keep my little sickies in your prayers. Noah is down with the stomach flu, and Nate has a cold and a bad cough. Poor little guys.

Silly me!

Thought I would share something that I thought was kind of funny. I woke up this morning and met my walking buddie, we walked a mile or so. Then I decided to go for a morning run. While I was running I had to keep yanking on the back of my pants because I could feel they were falling down and my underwear were showing, woo hoo! Anyway, I came into the house, said goodbye to Jared as he left for work, and got the kids breakfast. When I went to take a shower I realized that my pants had been on "back'wards". Oops! Here, I thought I was losing weight and my pants were just getting too big on me. Not so I'm afraid. Must of been extra tired this morning while getting dressed.

Fun with Cap'n Crunch

Noah was obviously very excited to be eating his Cap'n Crunch for breakfast this morning.

Now that's "crazy" Pap Pap hair

Just couldn't resist posting a pic of Nate's once again, "crazy" Pap Pap hair.

For those who love Him

"However as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love Him."
1Corinthians 2:9

Cracked up

Nate climbed up onto the island in our kitchen, (from a stool big brother did not put away), and was hanging off the one side of the island trying to get down. I ran in to rescue him from falling, and as I grabbed Nate to safety, Noah looked at his little brother and said, "He cracks me up."

More than cute

We were in the car, on our way to church this morning. I turned around, looked at Noah and said, "You are so cute." He smiled back and said, "I am smart too, and cool."

Peaceful fruit

For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.
Hebrews 12:11

Keep out "Nate"

This is big brother Noah's medieval way of keeping little brother Nate out of the bathroom cabinet.

Don't Worry Mom

Nate and I were downstairs, and Noah was upstairs playing in his room. I heard a thump, then a couple of minutes later another thump, then another thump. I yelled up and said, "Noah, what on earth are you doing?" Noah yelled back down, "Don't worry Mom, I'm just practicing my jumps!"

Star Wars Trivia

Well, Jared and Noah finally finshed "Episode 6" of "Star Wars." After viewing all 6 episodes (with some discretion in some scenes of the movies), I asked Noah, "So after you saw all the Star Wars movies, who won in the end?" Noah looked at me and plainly said, "George Lucas."

Watch and Pray

"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
Mathew 26:41

Be sure to drink your "Ovaltine"

For those of you who know Jared well, you are probably aware of the fact that he drank mass quantities of coffee. Not uncommon for him to enjoy an entire pot of coffee all to himself, in one day, might I add. Well.....Jared has given up coffee all together.....yea!!! His new addiction is hot "Ovaltine". He didn't have to retire his favorite coffee mug, he now uses it to enjoy a healthy chocolate treat. Those of you who know Jared well, also know that he has a bit of a sweet tooth and had no problem whatsoever giving up his love for coffee to replace it with his new love; sweet, rich, chocolate, "Ovaltine". Now Jared can give advice to all who have an ear to hear, "Be sure to drink your "Ovaltine."

Sleeper

I took this picture of Noah this morning while he was sleeping.... he's so cute. He loves his Batman sheets and comforter.

Sweet Face

I took this picture this morning right after Nate woke up. I just wanted to share this sweet face with everyone.

Value

Daddy's Boys

I am a dental hygienist, and I work two half days a week, not alot I know. God has really blessed me with a nice atmosphere to work as well as two wonderful people to work with. However, I often have a hard time, honestly because I really miss my boys. I tend to feel a little guilty being away from them. It is in my nature to want to complain, when really I have nothing to complain about. I was just looking through my pictures and came across this one of Jared and our boys. They really love their Daddy. Fortunately, when I walk out the door in the morning, headed off to fight the battle of gum disease and cavities, I am leaving my boys with their Daddy, who they both adore. When I look at this picture it makes me want to kick myself for complaining that I have to work. I know that the time Jared gets to spend with his little buddies is truly "priceless." When I go to work, it is time for Noah, Nate, and Daddy to have their own special time together and I need to rejoice for this blessing and think twice before I complain. I have a new perspective and I thank God for opening my eyes.

Pray for a friend today

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."
James 5:16

Pap Pap Hair

This is what we call "Pap Pap Hair"

How did those get in there?

As I was unloading groceries the other night, I came across a mysterious bag of oreos that I specifically remember telling Noah he was not getting. They must of somehow magically made their way into my shopping cart, on to the conveyer belt and into a grocery bag. Could Noah at 3 1/2 actually sneak something past me? When I asked him if he had snuck them in our cart, the only response I got was an enormous smile. That's my Noah. (On the bright side, at least they were paid for!)

God is faithful

"Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful."

May the Force Be With You "Noah"

Noah and his crew

Noah's guys

These are Noah's new guys. He has been playing with them non stop. He woke up this morning at 4:45 am and begged to play with his "Star Wars Guys." My response was a grouchy, "Go back to bed!" When he got back up at 7 am, he charged straight for his new obsession, and started his day with a fight between Darth Vader and Obi one kenobi.

Tiny Dancer

So what is Nate up to these days? Well, he just turned 18 mos. yesterday, such a big boy now. His new thing is "dancing." Music is not necessary. He cuts the rug like no one's business. Jared and I have no idea where he gets his moves from, but boy can he dance. He is such a character, and is very entertaining for us to watch!

Show me the way

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go for to you I lift up my soul."
Psalm 143:8

One for me.....

Jared and Noah are really into "Star Wars" right now. Noah and I were at Wal-Mart and I picked out 3 small action figures. I said, "Now here's one for Daddy, one for Noah, and one for Nate." Noah looked at me and he said, "No Mom, here's one for Noah, and one for Noah, and one for Noah."

In His hands

It has been over a year since we moved away from our family back in PA. It was one of the most difficult times in my life. Although the transition was a hard one, God has been faithful and has completely provided for us. We really do enjoy having the opportunity to live in New England. The Lord has blessed us with an amazing Christian family up here, and I am so thankful for each one of them. I know that we have made some lifetime friendships. Where we will be in 5 yrs., God only knows. But I hope that my address is Double Road, and that my two sons can walk up to Grandma and Pap Pap's anytime they want a Ho Ho.

This is for you Mom

Hi Mom. I found a new way for you to be a part of our lives, everyday. I will be posting all kinds of stuff so you can keep track of what your grandboys are up to. I miss you and I love you!

Aftershave

Noah came down the stairs after being up in the bathroom with Daddy. I leaned down and gave him a kiss on the cheek and said, "Wow, you're cologne smells really nice. And Noah said, "Mom, that's not cologne, that's aftershave."

Hardworker

Noah and I were talking about Pennsylvania, where we are from, and hope to move back to some day. He said, "Mom, I am a really hard worker, and I will build us a little house. I already have my tools."

Batman

We ran into a friend of ours as we were leaving from Noah's gymnastics and she said, "Bye Noah." He turned around and said, in a very serious voice, "I'm Batman."

Are the beds made?

For some reason, the flow of my day all falls on the reality of my beds being made or not. Sounds silly I know, but if you visit my house after 10 am and the beds aren't made, that means this mommie had a rough morning. I am not a neat freak by any means, but somehow by having the beds made, it gives me a sense of accomplishment. If I have a crazy day, and get nothing done that I had planned to do, then at least I can say, "Hey, at least the beds are made."

This Life

God gave me the gift of life and a sense of humor. He has me right where I am for a specific reason. Sometimes I sit and look at my surroundings and can't believe how different things have unfolded from where I thought I would be. I am in awe of His sovereign hand. I am so thankful that He is the Lord of my life.
